  • Jesus – Kungen

    ”Han ska vara konungars konung och herrars herre.” (1 Timoteusbrevet 6:15)

    Inledning

    Från början till slut visar Bibeln att Gud är kung – och att Messias, den utlovade frälsaren, skulle regera. När Jesus trädde fram, gjorde han anspråk på just detta: han är inte bara en lärare eller profet – han är kung. Men hans rike är inte av denna världen. Det är ett rike av sanning, rättfärdighet och frid.

    Att Jesus är kung betyder att han har all makt, men också att han regerar med kärlek, vishet och ödmjukhet.

    Profetian om kungen

    ”Ty ett barn blir oss fött, en son blir oss given. På hans axlar vilar herradömet… och hans välde ska vara stort.” (Jesaja 9:6–7)

    Gamla testamentet är fyllt av löften om en kommande kung – en som skulle sitta på Davids tron och regera för evigt.
    Jesus uppfyller dessa löften, men inte som världen förväntade sig. Han kom ridande på en åsna – inte en stridshäst.

    Jesus – konungars Konung

    När Jesus ställs inför Pilatus och får frågan om han är kung, svarar han:
    ”Mitt rike är inte av denna världen.” (Joh 18:36)

    Hans krona var av törne, hans tron ett kors – men genom sitt offer segrade han. Han uppstod och sitter nu på majestätets högra sida (Hebr 1:3).
    Uppenbarelseboken beskriver honom:
    ”På hans mantel och höft står skrivet: Konungars konung och herrars herre.” (Upp 19:16)

    Hans rike nu och i evighet

    Jesu rike är inte politiskt – det är andligt. Det växer där människor böjer sina hjärtan för honom. Han regerar i kärlek nu, och en dag ska han återvända för att upprätta allt fullt ut.

    Vi väntar på den dag då:
    ”Riket tillhör Herren, han är konung över folken.” (Ps 22:29)

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Jesus har all makt – ingenting sker utanför hans hand.
    – Jesus regerar i våra hjärtan – vi är kallade att lyda honom som vår kung.
    – Jesus kommer igen – för att regera synligt i rättfärdighet.
    – Vi är hans folk – kallade att leva i hans rike redan nu.

    Avslutning

    Jesus är kung – evig, rättfärdig, ödmjuk. Han bär inte bara en krona av guld, utan även en av törne för vår skull. Han har besegrat synd, död och mörker – och hans rike har inget slut.

    Böj ditt hjärta för honom, tjäna honom i glädje, och vänta på dagen då varje knä ska böjas för Kungen.

    Jesus, du är min Kung.
    Tack för att du regerar med nåd och sanning.
    Hjälp mig att leva i din vilja, att följa dig och ära dig.
    Regera i mitt hjärta, i din kyrka, och i världen.

    👑 Jesus – The King

    “He is the King of kings and Lord of lords.”
    (1 Timothy 6:15)

    Introduction

    From beginning to end, the Bible reveals that God is King – and that the Messiah, the promised Savior, would reign.
    When Jesus stepped onto the stage of history, He claimed exactly this:
    He is not just a teacher or a prophet – He is King.
    But His kingdom is not of this world.
    It is a kingdom of truth, righteousness, and peace.

    That Jesus is King means He holds all authority – and yet He rules with love, wisdom, and humility.

    The Prophecy of the King

    “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders… and of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.”
    (Isaiah 9:6–7)

    The Old Testament is full of promises about a coming King –
    One who would sit on David’s throne and reign forever.

    Jesus fulfills these promises, but not as the world expected.
    He came riding on a donkey – not a warhorse.

    Jesus – King of Kings

    When Jesus stood before Pilate and was asked if He was a king, He answered:

    “My kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36)

    His crown was made of thorns, His throne was a cross –
    But through His sacrifice, He triumphed.
    He rose again and now sits at the right hand of Majesty (Hebrews 1:3).

    The book of Revelation describes Him:

    “On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written:
    King of kings and Lord of lords.”     (Revelation 19:16)

    His Kingdom Now and Forever

    Jesus’ kingdom is not political – it is spiritual.
    It grows wherever hearts bow to Him.
    He reigns in love now – and one day, He will return to restore all things fully.

    We wait for the day when:

    “The kingdom belongs to the Lord, and He rules over the nations.” (Psalm 22:28)

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – Jesus has all authority – nothing happens outside His hand.
    – Jesus reigns in our hearts – we are called to obey Him as our King.
    – Jesus is coming again – to reign visibly in righteousness.
    – We are His people – called to live in His kingdom here and now.

    Conclusion

    Jesus is King – eternal, righteous, humble.
    He wears not only a crown of gold but also one of thorns for our sake.
    He has conquered sin, death, and darkness – and His kingdom will never end.

    Bow your heart to Him, serve Him with joy, and wait for the day when every knee will bow before the King.

    Prayer

    Jesus, You are my King.
    Thank You for reigning with grace and truth.
    Help me to live in Your will, to follow You, and to honor You.
    Reign in my heart, in Your Church, and in the world.
    Come, Lord Jesus, and establish Your eternal kingdom. Amen.

  • Jesus – ÖversteprästenJesus

    ”Vi har en stor överstepräst som har gått genom himlarna, Jesus, Guds Son, låt oss då hålla fast vid vår bekännelse.” (Hebreerbrevet 4:14)

    Inledning

    I det gamla förbundet var översteprästen folkets främsta representant inför Gud. Han gick in i det allra heligaste en gång om året, för att offra för folkets synder. När Nya testamentet kallar Jesus för vår överstepräst, visar det hur han uppfyller och fullkomnar hela det systemet – inte genom att offra djur, utan genom att offra sig själv.

    Att Jesus är vår överstepräst betyder att vi har en evig medlare, en som förstår oss, bär oss och öppnar vägen till Fadern.

    Översteprästens roll i det gamla förbundet

    I Mose lag var översteprästen den ende som kunde gå in i det allra heligaste – en gång per år, på försoningsdagen (3 Mos 16). Han bar blodet från offret för att försona folkets synder.

    Men detta upprepades år efter år, eftersom det aldrig gav fullständig rening.

    Jesus – den fullkomlige översteprästen

    ”Men nu har Kristus trätt fram som överstepräst… Han gick en gång för alla in i det allra heligaste… och vann en evig återlösning.” (Hebr 9:11–12)

    Jesus är inte bara en präst bland andra. Han är Guds Son, syndfri, evig. Han behövde inte offra för sina egna synder – han offrade sig själv för våra.
    Hans verk är inte tillfälligt – det är fullbordat.

    En överstepräst som förstår oss

    ”Vi har inte en överstepräst som inte kan ha medlidande med våra svagheter, utan en som har prövats i allt, men utan synd.” (Hebr 4:15)

    Jesus vet hur det är att vara människa. Han har känt smärta, frestelse, trötthet och sorg. Han möter dig inte med avstånd, utan med förståelse.

    ”Låt oss därför frimodigt gå fram till nådens tron…” (v.16)

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Vi har tillträde till Gud – genom Jesus är vägen öppen.
    – Vi har en som ber för oss – han lever för att mana gott för oss (Hebr 7:25).
    – Vi har en som förstår oss – han vet vad du går igenom.
    – Vi har en evig försoning – vi behöver inte frukta domen, vi vilar i hans nåd.

    Avslutning

    Jesus är vår store överstepräst – inte av människors ordning, utan av evighetens vilja. Han offrade sig själv en gång för alla och öppnade vägen till Fadern. Han bär dig i förbön, han känner dig i svagheten, och han leder dig in i det allra heligaste.

    Låt oss därför hålla fast vid vår bekännelse – och frimodigt gå till honom.

    Jesus, du är min överstepräst.
    Tack för att du har offrat dig själv för mina synder.
    Tack för att du ber för mig, bär mig, förstår mig.

    🕊 Jesus – The High Priest

    “We have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.”
    (Hebrews 4:14)

    Introduction

    In the old covenant, the high priest was the people’s primary representative before God.
    He would enter the Most Holy Place once a year to offer sacrifice for the sins of the people.

    When the New Testament calls Jesus our High Priest, it reveals that He fulfills and perfects the entire system – not by offering animals, but by offering Himself.

    That Jesus is our High Priest means we have an eternal mediator, one who understands us, carries us, and opens the way to the Father.

    The Role of the High Priest in the Old Covenant

    Under the law of Moses, only the high priest could enter the Most Holy Place – once a year, on the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 16).
    He carried the blood of the sacrifice to atone for the sins of the people.

    But this had to be repeated year after year, because it never brought full cleansing.

    Jesus – The Perfect High Priest

    “But when Christ came as high priest… He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.”
    (Hebrews 9:11–12)

    Jesus is not just another priest.
    He is the Son of God, sinless and eternal.
    He didn’t need to offer sacrifices for His own sins –
    He offered Himself for ours.

    His work is not temporary – it is finished.

    A High Priest Who Understands Us

    “We do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin.”
    (Hebrews 4:15)

    Jesus knows what it means to be human.
    He has experienced pain, temptation, fatigue, and sorrow.
    He does not meet you with distance – but with understanding.

    “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence…” (v.16)

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – We have access to God – through Jesus, the way is open.
    – We have One who intercedes for us – He lives to plead on our behalf (Hebrews 7:25).
    – We have One who understands us – He knows what you are going through.
    – We have eternal atonement – we no longer fear judgment, we rest in His grace.

    Conclusion

    Jesus is our great High Priest – not by human appointment, but by the will of eternity.
    He offered Himself once for all and opened the way to the Father.
    He carries you in prayer, knows you in your weakness, and leads you into the Most Holy Place.

    So let us hold fast to our confession –
    and come boldly to Him.

    Prayer

    Jesus, You are my High Priest.
    Thank You for offering Yourself for my sins.
    Thank You for praying for me, carrying me, understanding me.
    Help me to live in the grace You have opened – to come boldly before God, day after day.
    You are my atonement and my mediator. Amen.

  • Jesus – Hörnstenen

    ”Den sten som byggnadsarbetarna förkastade har blivit en hörnsten.” (Psaltaren 118:22)

    Inledning

    Byggstenar är nödvändiga för varje byggnad – men i biblisk tid var en särskilt viktig: hörnstenen. Det var den första och mest avgörande stenen, den som allt annat riktades efter.

    När Bibeln talar om Jesus som hörnstenen, beskriver den honom som det fasta fundamentet för Guds frälsningsplan – och för våra liv. Utan honom faller allt samman. Men med honom blir allt stabilt, bärande och sammanfogat.

    Den förkastade stenen

    ”Den sten som byggnadsarbetarna förkastade har blivit en hörnsten.” (Ps 118:22)

    Jesus citerar själv denna vers efter att ha berättat en liknelse om vinodlarna (Matt 21:42). Han visste att han skulle förkastas av ledarna – men han visste också att Gud skulle upphöja honom.

    Det som världen såg som svagt och obetydligt, blev i Guds händer det mest avgörande.

    En fast grund

    Paulus skriver:
    ”Ingen kan lägga en annan grund än den som är lagd, Jesus Kristus.” (1 Kor 3:11)

    Att bygga sitt liv på Jesus är att bygga på en klippa. Han är sann, stadig och trofast. Allt annat kommer att skaka – men det som är byggt på Kristus består.

    En sten för samling och en prövosten

    Petrus skriver:
    ”Se, jag lägger i Sion en utvald, dyrbar hörnsten, och den som tror på honom ska aldrig komma på skam.” (1 Petr 2:6)

    Men han tillägger också:
    ”För de som inte tror har stenen som byggnadsarbetarna förkastade blivit en stötesten.” (v.7)

    Jesus är hörnstenen – men varje människa måste välja vad man gör med honom: bygga sitt liv på honom eller snava på honom.

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Jesus är grunden – du behöver inget annat fundament.
    – Jesus håller – när livet stormar, står han fast.
    – Jesus samlar – vi blir ett i honom, som levande stenar i Guds hus (1 Petr 2:5).
    – Jesus prövar – vårt förhållande till honom visar vad vårt liv vilar på.

    Avslutning

    Jesus är hörnstenen – den som förkastades men blev upphöjd. På honom bygger Gud sin kyrka. På honom får du bygga ditt liv.

    Låt honom vara ditt fundament, din riktning och din trygghet – så ska inget kunna rubba dig.

    Herre Jesus, du är hörnstenen.
    Tack för att jag får bygga mitt liv på dig.
    Lär mig att lita på dig när allt annat skakar.
    Låt mitt liv formas av dig – i tro, i kärlek och i lydnad.

    🧱 Jesus – The Cornerstone

    “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.”
    (Psalm 118:22)

    Introduction

    Building stones are essential to every construction – but in biblical times, one stone was especially important: the cornerstone.
    It was the first and most crucial stone, the one by which all the others were aligned.

    When the Bible speaks of Jesus as the Cornerstone, it describes Him as the solid foundation of God’s plan of salvation – and of our lives.
    Without Him, everything falls apart.
    With Him, everything becomes stable, supported, and unified.

    The Rejected Stone

    “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” (Psalm 118:22)

    Jesus quotes this very verse after telling the parable of the vineyard tenants (Matthew 21:42).
    He knew He would be rejected by the leaders – but He also knew that God would exalt Him.

    What the world saw as weak and insignificant became, in God’s hands, the most essential piece.

    A Firm Foundation

    Paul writes:

    “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11)

    To build your life on Jesus is to build on rock.
    He is true, steady, and faithful.
    Everything else will be shaken – but what is built on Christ will remain.

    A Stone of Unity and a Stone of Testing

    Peter writes:

    “See, I lay a chosen and precious cornerstone in Zion, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.” (1 Peter 2:6)

    But he also adds:

    “For those who do not believe, the stone the builders rejected has become a stumbling stone.” (v.7)

    Jesus is the Cornerstone –
    but each person must decide what to do with Him:
    Will you build your life upon Him, or stumble over Him?

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – Jesus is the foundation – you need no other.
    – Jesus is secure – when life shakes, He stands firm.
    – Jesus gathers – we are made one in Him, as living stones in God’s house (1 Peter 2:5).
    – Jesus tests us – our relationship to Him reveals what our life is built on.

    Conclusion

    Jesus is the Cornerstone – the one who was rejected, but was exalted.
    On Him, God builds His Church.
    And on Him, you are invited to build your life.

    Let Him be your foundation, your alignment, and your security –
    and nothing will be able to shake you.

    Prayer

    Lord Jesus, You are the Cornerstone.
    Thank You that I may build my life on You.
    Teach me to trust You when everything else trembles.
    Shape my life by You – in faith, in love, and in obedience.
    You are my rock. You never fail. Amen.

  • Jesus – Porten

    ”Jag är porten. Den som går in genom mig ska bli frälst. Han ska gå in och gå ut och finna bete.” (Johannes 10:9)

    Inledning

    Jesus använder många bilder för att visa vem han är. En av dem är: ”Jag är porten”. Det är en bild från vardagen i det antika Israel, där herdar ofta sov vid ingången till fållan – bokstavligen blev porten som skyddade fåren.

    När Jesus säger att han är porten, erbjuder han mer än bara tillträde – han erbjuder frälsning, trygghet och frihet. Han är den enda vägen in i det sanna livet med Gud.

    Porten till frälsning

    ”Den som går in genom mig ska bli frälst.” (Joh 10:9)

    Jesus säger inte att han är en väg – utan den enda porten. Det finns inte många dörrar in till Guds rike – det finns en, och det är Jesus.
    Genom honom får vi syndernas förlåtelse, nytt liv och evigt hopp.

    Det är ett löfte, men också en kallelse: Kom in genom porten.

    Porten till trygghet och frihet

    ”Han ska gå in och gå ut och finna bete.” (Joh 10:9)

    Jesus erbjuder mer än bara räddning från fara – han erbjuder ett liv i trygghet och frihet. I honom får vi vila, vägledning och näring.
    Vi får komma in till gemenskap med Gud och gå ut i världen med frid i hjärtat.
    Han skyddar oss från fienden och leder oss till det vi behöver.

    Att gå in genom porten

    1. Det kräver ödmjukhet – vi måste erkänna att vi inte kan rädda oss själva.
    2. Det kräver tro – vi får ta emot frälsningen som en gåva genom Jesus.
    3. Det kräver överlåtelse – att följa honom som vår Herre och Herde.

    Men alla är välkomna. Porten står öppen. Och den som går in får liv – liv i överflöd (Joh 10:10).

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Det finns en väg till Gud – och hans namn är Jesus.
    – Du är inbjuden – porten är öppen.
    – Du är trygg – Jesus vakar över sitt folk.
    – Du är fri – att leva i hans nåd varje dag.

    Avslutning

    Jesus är porten. Genom honom får vi allt: frälsning, trygghet, frihet, liv. Han är inte bara början – han är vägen in, vägen framåt, och vägen hem.

    Kom genom honom – och du ska leva.

    Jesus, du är porten.
    Tack för att du har öppnat vägen till Gud för mig.
    Lär mig att gå in genom dig varje dag – till trygghet, till frid, till liv.
    Bevara mig nära dig, och led mig i din vilja.

    🚪 Jesus – The Gate

    “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture.”
    (John 10:9)

    Introduction

    Jesus uses many images to show who He is. One of them is:
    “I am the gate.”
    This is a picture drawn from everyday life in ancient Israel, where shepherds often slept at the entrance of the sheepfold – literally becoming the gate that protected the sheep.

    When Jesus says He is the gate, He offers more than just access –
    He offers salvation, safety, and freedom.
    He is the only way into the true life with God.

    The Gate to Salvation

    “Whoever enters through me will be saved.” (John 10:9)

    Jesus doesn’t say He is a way – but the only gate.
    There aren’t many doors into the Kingdom of God – there is one, and that one is Jesus.
    Through Him we receive forgiveness of sins, new life, and eternal hope.

    It’s a promise – but also a calling:
    Come in through the gate.

    The Gate to Safety and Freedom

    “They will come in and go out and find pasture.” (John 10:9)

    Jesus offers more than just rescue from danger –
    He offers a life of security and freedom.
    In Him, we find rest, guidance, and nourishment.

    We are welcomed into fellowship with God and sent out into the world with peace in our hearts.
    He protects us from the enemy and leads us to what we truly need.

    Entering Through the Gate

    1. It requires humility – We must admit we can’t save ourselves.
    2. It requires faith – We receive salvation as a gift through Jesus.
    3. It requires surrender – To follow Him as our Lord and Shepherd.

    But everyone is welcome.
    The gate is open.
    And whoever enters will find life – life in abundance (John 10:10).

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – There is a way to God – and His name is Jesus.
    – You are invited – the gate is open.
    – You are safe – Jesus watches over His people.
    – You are free – to live in His grace each and every day.

    Conclusion

    Jesus is the gate.
    Through Him, we receive everything: salvation, safety, freedom, life.
    He is not just the beginning – He is the way in, the way forward, and the way home.

    Come through Him – and you will live.

    Prayer

    Jesus, You are the gate.
    Thank You for opening the way to God for me.
    Teach me to enter through You every day – into safety, peace, and life.
    Keep me close to You, and lead me in Your will.
    You are my salvation and my joy. Amen.

  • Jesus – Livets bröd

    Jesus – Livets bröd

    ”Jag är livets bröd. Den som kommer till mig ska aldrig hungra, och den som tror på mig ska aldrig någonsin törsta.” (Johannes 6:35)

    Inledning

    Vi människor är skapade med hunger – inte bara fysisk, utan också själslig. Vi längtar efter mening, trygghet, kärlek och liv. Jesus möter den längtan med dessa ord: ”Jag är livets bröd”. Det är ett av hans mest grundläggande löften – att han själv är den som mättar vårt innersta behov.

    Att Jesus är livets bröd betyder att i honom finns den andliga näring vi behöver. Utan honom svälter själen – med honom får vi liv.

    Manna i öknen – en bild på det kommande

    När Israels folk vandrade i öknen gav Gud dem bröd från himlen – manna – varje dag. Det var deras överlevnad, dag efter dag.

    ”Han lät manna regna över dem till föda, han gav dem himlens säd.” (Psaltaren 78:24)

    Men Jesus säger att det brödet inte var det sanna brödet:
    ”Era fäder åt manna i öknen och dog. Men det bröd som kommer ner från himlen gör att man inte dör.” (Joh 6:49–50)

    Jag är livets bröd

    Jesus talar till människorna som följt honom efter brödundret – men han leder dem till något större än fysiskt bröd.

    ”Gör inte arbete för den mat som tar slut, utan för den mat som består och ger evigt liv…” (Joh 6:27)

    Han erbjuder sig själv som det sanna brödet – det som mättar evigt. Tro på honom är att äta detta bröd, att ta emot honom i tro.

    Vad innebär det för oss?

    1. Jesus tillfredsställer själen
    Världen erbjuder mycket, men lämnar oss ofta tomma. Bara Jesus ger djup frid och mening.

    2. Jesus ger evigt liv
    ”Den som äter av det bröd jag ger ska leva i evighet.” (Joh 6:51)
    Det handlar inte bara om nuet – utan om framtidshoppet i honom.

    3. Jesus ger daglig näring
    Precis som man åt manna varje dag, får vi komma till Jesus dagligen för att leva i hans kraft och nåd.

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Vi behöver Jesus för att leva – inte bara för att tro.
    – Vi får komma hungriga – han mättar varje själ som söker honom.
    – Vi får daglig gemenskap – han är vår dagliga föda, vårt dagliga bröd.
    – Vi får vila i löftet – han ger liv som aldrig tar slut.

    Avslutning

    Jesus är livets bröd. Han kom inte bara för att ge oss undervisning – han kom för att bli vår näring. Han ger sig själv – och den som tar emot honom får liv, mättnad och evigt hopp.

    Kom till honom. Ät av livets bröd. Och lev.

    Bön

    Jesus, du är livets bröd.
    Tack för att du mättar min hunger, stillar min törst och ger mig liv.
    Lär mig att komma till dig varje dag – att söka min näring i dig.

    🍞 Jesus – The Bread of Life

    “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
    (John 6:35)

    Introduction

    We humans are created with hunger – not only physical, but also spiritual. We long for meaning, security, love, and life. Jesus meets that longing with these words:
    “I am the bread of life.”
    It is one of His most foundational promises – that He Himself is the one who satisfies our deepest needs.

    That Jesus is the Bread of Life means that in Him we find the spiritual nourishment we need.
    Without Him, the soul starves – but with Him, we receive life.

    Manna in the Desert – A Foreshadowing

    When the people of Israel wandered in the desert, God gave them bread from heaven – manna – each day. It was their survival, day after day.

    “He rained down manna for the people to eat, he gave them the grain of heaven.”
    (Psalm 78:24)

    But Jesus says that manna was not the true bread:

    “Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die.”
    (John 6:49–50)

    I Am the Bread of Life

    Jesus speaks to the crowd that had followed Him after the miracle of the loaves – but He points them to something greater than physical bread.

    “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life…”
    (John 6:27)

    He offers Himself as the true bread – the one that satisfies eternally.
    To believe in Him is to eat this bread – to receive Him in faith.

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    1. Jesus satisfies the soul
    The world offers much but often leaves us empty.
    Only Jesus gives deep peace and meaning.

    2. Jesus gives eternal life

    “Whoever eats this bread will live forever.” (John 6:51)
    This is not just about the present – it’s about the eternal hope we have in Him.

    3. Jesus gives daily nourishment
    Just as the manna was eaten daily, we come to Jesus each day for strength and grace to live.

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – We need Jesus not just to believe – but to truly live.
    – We can come hungry – He satisfies every soul that seeks Him.
    – We are invited into daily fellowship – He is our daily nourishment, our daily bread.
    – We can rest in the promise – He gives a life that never ends.

    Conclusion

    Jesus is the Bread of Life.
    He didn’t come only to teach us – He came to become our nourishment.
    He gives Himself – and the one who receives Him finds life, fullness, and eternal hope.

    Come to Him. Eat the Bread of Life. And live.

    Inledning

    Ljus och mörker är starka symboler i Bibeln – och i våra egna liv. Vi vet alla hur mörker känns: förvirring, rädsla, skuld, hopplöshet. När Jesus säger att han är världens ljus, säger han inte bara att han visar oss vägen – han är själva ljuset som fördriver mörkret.

    Att Jesus är världens ljus betyder att i honom finns klarhet, hopp och sanning. Och det är ett ljus som inte kan övervinnas.

    Ljusets löfte i Gamla testamentet

    Redan från början skiljer Gud ljus från mörker (1 Mosebok 1:3–4), och genom hela historien utlovar han ett kommande ljus för världen:

    ”Det folk som vandrar i mörkret ska se ett stort ljus…” (Jesaja 9:2)

    När Jesus kommer, uppfylls dessa löften. Han är inte bara en profet bland andra – han är det utlovade ljuset som världen väntat på.

    Jesus – det sanna ljuset

    ”Det sanna ljuset, som ger ljus åt alla människor, skulle nu komma in i världen.” (Joh 1:9)

    Jesus lyser inte bara utanför oss – han vill lysa i oss. Ljuset avslöjar, men det värmer också. Det leder och helar. Att följa honom är att lämna mörkret bakom sig – och gå i Guds närvaro.

    Ljus i våra liv

    I mörkret vet vi inte vart vi ska gå. Jesus lyser upp vår väg: ”Ditt ord är mina fötters lykta och ett ljus på min stig.” (Ps 119:105)

    Ljuset tränger in där vi helst vill gömma oss – inte för att döma, utan för att hela.

    3. Ljuset ger liv
    Där ljuset kommer, växer livet. Jesus tänder tro, hopp och kärlek i våra hjärtan.

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Du behöver inte vandra i mörker – Jesus är ditt ljus.
    – Du kan våga leva öppet – för han lyser i nåd.
    – Du är kallad att sprida ljuset – ”Ni är världens ljus…” (Matt 5:14)

    Avslutning

    Mörkret kan vara starkt, men ljuset är starkare.
    Jesus är världens ljus – och hans ljus lyser i mörkret, och mörkret har inte övervunnit det (Joh 1:5).

    Introduction

    Light and darkness are powerful symbols in the Bible – and in our own lives. We all know what darkness feels like: confusion, fear, guilt, hopelessness.
    When Jesus says He is the light of the world, He’s not just saying He shows us the way – He is the very light that drives out the darkness.

    That Jesus is the light of the world means that in Him there is clarity, hope, and truth. And it is a light that can never be overcome.

    The Promise of Light in the Old Testament

    From the very beginning, God separates light from darkness (Genesis 1:3–4), and throughout history, He promises a coming light for the world:

    “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light…”
    (Isaiah 9:2)

    When Jesus comes, these promises are fulfilled.
    He is not just another prophet – He is the promised light the world has been waiting for.

    Jesus – The True Light

    “The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.”
    (John 1:9)

    Jesus doesn’t just shine around us – He wants to shine within us.
    The light reveals, but it also warms.
    It leads and it heals.
    To follow Him is to leave the darkness behind – and walk in the presence of God.

    Light in Our Lives

    1. Light gives direction
    In the dark, we don’t know where to go. Jesus lights our path:

    “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

    2. Light reveals the truth
    Light reaches the places we would rather hide – not to condemn, but to heal.

    3. Light brings life
    Where light enters, life begins to grow. Jesus ignites faith, hope, and love in our hearts.

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – You don’t have to walk in darkness – Jesus is your light.
    – You can dare to live openly – for He shines with grace.
    – You are called to share the light –

    “You are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14)

    Conclusion

    Darkness can be strong – but light is stronger.
    Jesus is the Light of the World – and His light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:5).

    Let Him shine in you – and through you – until the world sees who He is.

    – Du behöver inte tvivla – Jesus är sanningen.
    – Du behöver inte tyna bort – Jesus är livet.
    – Du får komma som du är – och låta honom leda dig till Fadern.

    Avslutning

    Jesus är inte en väg bland många – han är Vägen.
    Han är inte bara en lärare – han är Sanningen.
    Han är inte bara en välsignelse – han är Livet självt.

    ”I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
    It’s not just a statement – it’s an invitation and a promise.
    Jesus doesn’t offer a theory or moral guidance; He offers Himself as the only way to God.

    In a world of many voices, uncertainty, and death, Jesus stands before us – as the way we may walk, the truth we can trust, and the life we are invited to receive.

    I Am the Way

    Humanity has always searched for a way – a way to God, to meaning, to peace.
    Jesus doesn’t just point out the way – He is the way.
    Through His person, His life, death, and resurrection, we find fellowship with God.

    ”No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

    It’s an exclusive claim – but also an open invitation to all who want to come.

    I Am the Truth

    In a time of relativism and confusion, Jesus says He is the truth – not one among many, but the true revelation of who God is.
    He is the eternal Word made flesh.
    In Him we find God’s faithfulness, clarity, and promise.

    Inledning

    I en av sina sista undervisningar innan korset säger Jesus något djupt och rikt på betydelse: ”Jag är den sanna vinrankan”. Det är en bild från naturen, från odlingen – men den bär på ett evigt budskap. Jesus visar hur vårt andliga liv inte är något vi skapar själva – det växer i gemenskap med honom.

    Att Jesus är vinrankan betyder att han är källan till liv, frukt och kraft. Utan honom vissnar vi – men i honom bär vi frukt som varar.

    Vinrankan i Gamla testamentet

    Israel kallades ofta för Guds vinstock:

    ”Du förde en vinstock från Egypten, du drev bort hednafolk och planterade den.” (Psaltaren 80:9)

    Men gång på gång bar den dålig frukt. Jesaja säger:
    ”Han väntade sig goda druvor, men vinstocken gav vilddruvor.” (Jesaja 5:2)

    När Jesus säger: ”Jag är den sanna vinrankan”, markerar han något nytt. Han är den som fullkomligt bär den frukt Gud längtar efter.

    Vad betyder det att Jesus är vinrankan?

    1. Livet kommer från honom
    En gren kan inte leva utan stammen. Så är det också med vårt andliga liv – utan Jesus torkar vi bort.

    2. Frukten kommer genom förblivande
    ”Den som förblir i mig och jag i honom bär rik frukt.” (Joh 15:5)
    Att vara kristen är inte en prestation – det är en relation. Vi bär frukt genom att vara nära Jesus.

    3. Rening för mer frukt
    ”Var gren som bär frukt rensar han för att den ska bära mer frukt.” (Joh 15:2)
    Gud arbetar med oss – ibland genom prövningar – för att vår tro ska mogna och vårt liv förhärliga honom.

    Att förbli i honom

    Att förbli i Jesus är hjärtat i detta budskap. Det handlar om daglig gemenskap – i bön, i ordet, i lydnad. Det handlar om att leva i hans kärlek:

    ”Förbli i min kärlek.” (Joh 15:9)

    Och löftet är starkt:
    ”Om ni förblir i mig och mina ord förblir i er, be då om vad ni vill, och ni ska få det.” (Joh 15:7)

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Vi får vila – vi behöver inte skapa liv själva.
    – Vi får kraft – anden flödar genom Jesus in i oss.
    – Vi får bära frukt – som syns i kärlek, tålamod, trohet, glädje.
    – Vi får gemenskap – en plats där vi hör hemma, i Kristus.

    Avslutning

    Jesus är den sanna vinrankan. Han är inte en religiös modell – han är livets källa. Och vi är kallade att leva i honom, inte bara tro på honom på avstånd. Förbli i honom – och du ska bära frukt som består.

    ”I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”
    (John 15:1)

    Introduction

    In one of His final teachings before the cross, Jesus says something profound and full of meaning:
    ”I am the true vine.”
    It’s an image from nature, from cultivation – but it carries an eternal message.
    Jesus shows that our spiritual life is not something we create ourselves – it grows through communion with Him.

    That Jesus is the Vine means He is the source of life, fruitfulness, and strength.
    Without Him, we wither – but in Him, we bear fruit that lasts.

    The Vine in the Old Testament

    Israel was often referred to as God’s vine:

    ”You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.”
    (Psalm 80:8)

    But again and again, it bore bad fruit. Isaiah writes:

    ”He looked for a crop of good grapes, but it yielded only wild grapes.”
    (Isaiah 5:2)

    So when Jesus says, “I am the true vine,”
    He is marking a new beginning.
    He is the one who perfectly bears the fruit God longs for.

    What Does It Mean That Jesus Is the Vine?

    1. Life comes from Him
    A branch cannot live without the vine.
    So it is with our spiritual life – without Jesus, we dry up.

    2. Fruit comes through abiding

    ”The one who remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit.” (John 15:5)
    Being a Christian isn’t about performance – it’s about relationship.
    We bear fruit by staying close to Jesus.

    3. Pruning for greater fruit

    ”Every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” (John 15:2)
    God works in us – sometimes through trials – so that our faith matures and our lives bring Him glory.

    Abiding in Him

    To abide in Jesus is at the heart of this message.
    It means daily communion – in prayer, in the Word, in obedience.
    It means living in His love:

    ”Remain in my love.” (John 15:9)

    And the promise is strong:

    ”If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
    (John 15:7)

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – We can rest – we don’t have to generate life on our own.
    – We receive power – the Spirit flows from Jesus into us.
    – We will bear fruit – visible in love, patience, faithfulness, and joy.
    – We find belonging – a place where we are rooted, in Christ.

    Conclusion

    Jesus is the true vine.
    He is not just a religious example – He is the source of life.
    And we are called to live in Him, not just believe in Him from a distance.
    Abide in Him – and you will bear fruit that lasts.

    Prayer

    Lord Jesus, you are the true vine.
    Thank You for giving life, nourishment, and peace.

    Jesus – Brudgummen

    ”Brudgummen är den som har bruden. Men brudgummens vän, som står där och lyssnar på honom, gläder sig över brudgummens röst.” (Johannes 3:29)

    Inledning

    Bland Bibelns mest kärleksfulla och intima bilder av Jesus finns bilden av honom som Brudgummen. Det är inte en titel vi ofta talar om i vardagen, men den bär på ett djupt andligt budskap: Jesus älskar sitt folk som en brudgum älskar sin brud. Han har förberett en plats, han väntar på den stora dagen – och han har gett sitt liv för att förena sig med henne för evigt.

    Att Jesus är Brudgummen säger något om hans kärlek, hans trofasthet och det eviga löftet han ger oss.

    Brudgummen i Gamla testamentet

    I Gamla testamentet beskrivs Guds relation till sitt folk ofta som ett äktenskap. Gud säger:

    ”Bröllopsgästerna kan väl inte sörja så länge brudgummen är hos dem?” (Matteus 9:15)

    Jesus identifierar sig själv som brudgummen. Han är den som har kommit för att vinna sin brud – församlingen – med kärlek och nåd.

    Ett löfte om återkomst

    Brudgummen inte bara kom – han kommer tillbaka. I Uppenbarelseboken ser Johannes den stora framtida föreningen:

    ”Låt oss vara glada och jubla och ge honom äran, för Lammets bröllop har kommit, och hans brud har gjort sig redo.” (Uppenbarelseboken 19:7)

    Vi väntar nu som en brud gör – i längtan, i trohet, i förberedelse. Och när han kommer ska vi förenas med honom i evig glädje.

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Du är djupt älskad – Jesus längtar efter gemenskap med dig.
    – Du är utvald – inte av prestation, utan av nåd.
    – Du är kallad att leva troget – som en väntande brud.
    – Du har ett evigt hopp – en framtid i kärlekens fullhet.

    Avslutning

    Jesus är inte bara din Frälsare – han är din Brudgum.
    Han har givit sitt liv för dig, berett en plats för dig, och en dag ska han komma för att hämta sin brud.

    Må vi leva i trohet, med längtan i våra hjärtan och olja i våra lampor – redo att möta honom när han kommer.

    ”The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice.”
    (John 3:29)

    Introduction

    Among the most loving and intimate images of Jesus in the Bible is that of Him as the Bridegroom. It’s not a title we often use in everyday conversation, but it carries a profound spiritual message:
    Jesus loves His people the way a bridegroom loves his bride.
    He has prepared a place, He is waiting for the great day – and He gave His life to be united with her forever.

    That Jesus is the Bridegroom speaks of His love, His faithfulness, and the eternal promise He offers us.

    The Bridegroom in the Old Testament

    In the Old Testament, God’s relationship with His people is often described as a marriage. God says:

    ”I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.”
    (Hosea 2:19)

    When the people are unfaithful, it is called spiritual adultery. But when they return, they are welcomed with love.

    Jesus as the Bridegroom

    In the New Testament, Jesus Himself embraces this image. When John the Baptist’s disciples ask why Jesus’ disciples don’t fast, He replies:

    ”How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them?”
    (Matthew 9:15)

    Jesus identifies Himself as the Bridegroom.
    He has come to win His bride – the Church – through love and grace.

    A Promise of Return

    The Bridegroom didn’t just come once – He is coming back.
    In the Book of Revelation, John sees the great future union:

    ”Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.”
    (Revelation 19:7)

    Now we wait, like a bride – with longing, with faithfulness, and in preparation.
    And when He comes, we will be united with Him in eternal joy.

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – You are deeply loved – Jesus longs for fellowship with you.
    – You are chosen – not by performance, but by grace.
    – You are called to live faithfully – like a bride waiting for her groom.
    – You have an eternal hope – a future in the fullness of love.

    Conclusion

    Jesus is not only your Savior –
    He is your Bridegroom.

    He has given His life for you, prepared a place for you, and one day He will return to take His bride home.

    May we live in faithfulness, with longing in our hearts and oil in our lamps – ready to meet Him when He comes.

    Prayer

    Lord Jesus, You are the Bridegroom who loves Your bride.
    Thank You for choosing us, loving us, and giving Your life for us.
    Teach us to live in faithfulness and expectation,
    with hearts that long for Your return.

    En av de mest älskade bilderna av Jesus i hela Bibeln är den om honom som Herden. Det är en bild fylld av omsorg, närhet och trygghet. Att Jesus är den gode herden betyder att han inte bara leder oss – han känner oss, kallar oss vid namn och ger sitt liv för oss.

    I en värld där många känner sig vilsna eller sårade, är detta ett budskap att hålla fast vid: *Du har en Herde – och han är god.*

    Den stora herden genom hela Bibeln

    Redan i Gamla testamentet ser vi hur Gud själv uppenbarar sig som herde:

    ”Herren är min herde, mig ska inget fattas.” (Psaltaren 23:1)

    Gud säger genom profeten Hesekiel:
    ”Jag ska själv söka upp mina får och ta mig an dem.” (Hesekiel 34:11)

    – då förstår vi: Jesus gör anspråk på att vara **den Gud som leder sitt folk**.

    Vad kännetecknar den gode herden?

    1. Han känner sina får
    Jesus säger: ”Jag känner mina får, och de känner mig.” (Joh 10:14)
    Du är inte bara en i mängden – han vet vem du är. Han kallar dig vid namn.

    2. Han leder dem
    En god herde går före sin hjord – han visar vägen. Han leder oss till vila, till rätta stigar och genom mörka dalar.

    3. Han offrar sig för dem
    Jesus säger: ”Den gode herden ger sitt liv för fåren.” (Joh 10:11)
    Det är kärlekens yttersta uttryck – att han dog för att vi skulle leva.

    En herde som bär och söker

    I Lukas 15 berättar Jesus liknelsen om det förlorade fåret. Herdens respons är inte ilska – utan sökande:

    ”Han går och letar efter det tills han hittar det… och gläds mer över det än över de 99 som inte kommit bort.”

    Jesus är inte bara herden som vakar – han är den som söker, lyfter upp, bär hem.

    Han möter den svage med mildhet och leder med ömhet.

    Vad betyder det för oss?

    – Du är sedd och känd av Gud – han vet vad du behöver.
    – Du är inte ensam – Herden går före dig.
    – Du är älskad – han gav sitt liv för dig.
    – Du är trygg – inget kan rycka dig ur hans hand. (Joh 10:28)

    Avslutning

    När du ser på Jesus som Herden – se mer än en vacker bild. Se en levande verklighet.
    Du har en som vakar över dig, leder dig, söker dig när du går vilse och bär dig när du är svag.

    Han är inte bara en herde – **han är den gode herden**.

    ”I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
    (John 10:11)

    Introduction

    One of the most beloved images of Jesus in the entire Bible is that of the Shepherd. It is a picture filled with care, closeness, and safety. That Jesus is the Good Shepherd means He not only leads us – He knows us, calls us by name, and lays down His life for us.

    In a world where many feel lost or wounded, this is a message to hold on to:
    You have a Shepherd – and He is good.

    The Great Shepherd Throughout the Bible

    Already in the Old Testament, we see God revealing Himself as a shepherd:

    ”The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)

    God says through the prophet Ezekiel:

    ”I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.” (Ezekiel 34:11)

    And when Jesus then says:

    ”I am the good shepherd…” (John 10:11)

    – we understand: Jesus is claiming to be the God who leads His people.

    What Characterizes the Good Shepherd?

    1. He knows His sheep
    Jesus says:

    ”I know my sheep, and my sheep know me.” (John 10:14)
    You are not just one in the crowd – He knows who you are. He calls you by name.

    2. He leads them
    A good shepherd goes before his flock – he shows the way. He leads us to rest, to righteous paths, and through dark valleys.

    3. He sacrifices Himself for them
    Jesus says:

    ”The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11)
    This is the ultimate expression of love – that He died so that we might live.

    A Shepherd Who Carries and Seeks

    In Luke 15, Jesus tells the parable of the lost sheep. The shepherd’s response isn’t anger – it is pursuit:

    ”He goes after the lost sheep until he finds it… and rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not wander off.”

    Jesus is not only the shepherd who watches – He is the one who searches, lifts up, and carries home.

    He meets the weak with gentleness and leads with tenderness.

    What Does This Mean for Us?

    – You are seen and known by God – He knows what you need.
    – You are not alone – the Shepherd goes before you.
    – You are loved – He gave His life for you.
    – You are safe – nothing can snatch you from His hand. (John 10:28)

    Conclusion

    When you see Jesus as the Shepherd – see more than a beautiful image.
    See a living reality.
    You have One who watches over you, leads you, searches for you when you are lost, and carries you when you are weak.

    He is not just a shepherd – He is the Good Shepherd.

    Lord Jesus, you are the Good Shepherd.
    Thank You for knowing me, leading me, and giving Your life for me.
    Help me to follow Your voice, rest in Your care, and trust in Your path.
    Lead me through everything, until I am home with You.
